Short film commissioned by Cartoon Network as part of a series of inspiring films for children

A Whale’s Tale was launched by Hope Works on World Children’s Day as one of twelve films designed to inspire the values of kindness, tolerance and understanding in children around the world.

Airing on TV channels globally, the films were all made by big names in children’s broadcasting, from DreamWorks to Disney, and each one was created to be real and relevant across borders and cultures.

This particular film focuses on our human responsibility for the environment, specifically on the issue of plastic and its effect on the oceans.

Our role was to score the story of how the two worlds discover the same problem and work to resolve it, giving each scene and character a unique personality and feel.

Telling the tale musically required bringing together a range of instrumentation, both organic and synthesised, to underpin a story that is both light-hearted and funny at times, whilst also being earnest and thought-provoking.

Choir recording for Sainsbury’s 2018 Christmas campaign

“Hi there, can you possibly organise a choir of 14 school kids for next week?” “Why, yes, yes we most definitely can.”

We were asked to provide the sound of Sainsbury’s Christmas Choir and were immensely excited to be involved in this epic project. To be able to already have connections and contacts to organise a choir in the space of 5 days is testament to how collaborative our studios are.

Bespoke music composition for BT Sport’s coverage of the 2018 Speedway season.

Picture the scene. Riders fly around a dirt oval at a blistering pace, bikes almost horizontal, without any brakes to fall back on. You’re gonna need the right music to set the mood.

As coverage of the 2018 Speedway season kicks off on BT Sport, our bespoke theme will be used as its musical identity.

Featuring punchy drums, rolling synth arpeggios and a huge but fitting wallop at the end, our title theme was later expanded into a sonic toolkit for use over longer formatted content. A great project all round and an absolute pleasure to work with the fantastic team at BT Sport.

Bespoke music and sound design for Covergirl’s #IAmWhatIMakeUp campaign, in collaboration with Woodwork Music

The spot features fitness trainer Massy Arias, whose ‘me-time’ is all about controlled strength, introverted energy, and absolute focus. So the versatility and flow of a raw and close-miked cello was perfect for this film’s music, accentuating her power and poise, and providing a beautiful balance of both grit and serenity.

We also created the sound design in-house, in tandem with the music composition. It combines the raw and real sounds of training in a gym with tailored hyperreal effects to build a visceral and intimate atmosphere.

Big thanks to Rose Gallaway for performing the cello parts to the film with such incredible deftness and skill.

Accor are an international hotel group which operates in 95 countries and comprises of some of the world’s best known brands such as Ibis, Novotel and Pullman. We were commissioned to provide an evocative and sensitive soundtrack to accompany their latest international campaign showcasing the group’s attention to detail and culture when attending to their guests.

As a nod to Maille’s heritage, this film takes the grainy quality of classic French cooking and gives it a twist of modern flair.

We took the same approach with the songwriting and production, harking back to the irreverent style of 60s French pop and blending it with some new flavours… 

The track was written in collaboration with Brussels-based singer Esra Tasasiz, whose lyrical and vocal contributions played a central role in the success of the project.

Nickelodeon TV ad for US yoghurt and smoothie brand Danimals

We were commissioned by our friends at Blue Zoo to create a dynamic a dynamic, playful and fun soundtrack to accompany the new Danimals spots to be aired in the US. This first spot is directing kids towards a minisite where they can design their own story… which in turn will become the second TV spot!

We needed to create a seamless link between the different sections of the film, emphasising the drama, the energy and the spy orientated nature of the storyline.

Every once in a while a project will come along that re-connects our team with a piece of music we had forgotten how much we loved.

The challenge with this piece of work was twofold, firstly arranging, performing and then editing a composition as well known as Clair De Lune is both an honour and a risk and secondly, with the timescales we had, the concept of an audio recording wasn’t possible so we had to rely on MIDI software instruments to re-create a particular sound as faithfully as we could.

Huge thanks must go to Ewan Gilford, our performer and also Will from the WMP team who handled the mastery of the edit and the mix.

We were honoured and hugely excited to be the only bespoke part of the soundtrack for this epic promo film from Nike.

We were asked, pretty late on in the day, to be involved in pitching for the ice hockey scene (01:41 - 01:50). The client wasn’t sure what song they wanted to re-work so we ended up creating three different options, and Skepta’s “Shutdown” won the day. A huge film, huge commercial syncs and a huge stir that’s been caused since the films release!

Ad spot for the annual DFS Winter Sale, featuring the characters from Aardman Animations’ new feature film ‘Early Man’

It had been a bit of a bucket-list dream of ours to compose the music for an Aardman animation, so to be part of this unique film was a very special way to mark the new year.

Beginning with primitive percussion and ending with the bliss of lush strings, we follow Dug and his friends as they go on their prehistoric search for true comfort.

The ad is currently showing on TV and in cinemas, and Early Man is due for UK release on 26 January 2018 AD.

Sky Cinema - Heroes Vs Villains

Every now and then you get a brief that gives you the freedom to create something really unique. This was one of those briefs. Taking influences from the iconic films represented in the animations we really wanted to create a juxtaposition between light and dark, the heroes and the villains.

Worldwide TVC for Lacoste Pour Femme perfume, accompanied by a commercial single release.

This project somewhat flipped the usual process of syncing a commercial track to an ad on its head. Instead of starting with a finished full-length track and cutting it down to fit the ad, we began by writing the song to the picture, reimagined for the shorter 15-second version and afterwards extended it into a 3-minute single for commercial release. Whilst still maintaining a strong continuity between the different versions, this process allowed each one to be subtly different and crafted uniquely to its purpose.

By the time we were approached to write for the ad, the directors had tried a lot of existing tracks on the film, none of which were quite striking the balance they were looking for. They wanted the music to reflect the personality of the protagonist, just as the film was doing; juxtaposing her vulnerable and introspective side with her unexpected and daring side. By providing our bespoke approach we were able to find that balance right off the bat and create a track that helped to tell the story of the visuals rather than one that was trying to tell a story of its own.

As ever there was strong in-house WMP collaboration on this (at one point the lyrics, harmony and topline were being written in one room, and the beats were simultaneously being produced in another, with ideas flying back and forth) but we also collaborated closely with Cavendish Music throughout the project. Cavendish not only supervised the project and developed the release strategy for the single, but it was also they who brought in London-based artist LL to provide the final vocals, which we recorded at their studio in King’s Cross. Truly a team effort.

Re-brand campaign for Thomson Holidays’ name-change to TUI

We were briefed by Woodwork Music to produce an arrangement of the classic R&B track ‘Ain’t Nobody’ by Rufus And Chaka Khan, with a nod to the style of the hit musical La La Land — which we did with as much reverence for both as we could muster! Our arrangement was then used on the set of the ad shoot for the dancers and leading lady to perform to.

The song was arranged, orchestrated and produced in-house at WMP, and was sung by the incredible Alice Higgins, who was directed to perform her vocals as if she was the one being breathlessly lifted and twirled through a magical journey of a holiday experience (which she did with outstanding skill and stamina).

As part of the campaign we also went on to arrange and produce a full-length version of the song for non-broadcast usage, as well additional original music in the same style for further TV usage elsewhere.

The ad first aired in October 2017 on every major UK TV station, and reached 63% of the UK adult population within a fortnight. TUI also agreed a 12-month sponsorship of the whole Sky One channel using a series of idents which also featured the track.

Bespoke theme and score for the original comedy Bobby & Harriet Get Married

We were absolutely honoured to work with VICE on the title theme, bumpers and underscore for this show, which was one of the first to be aired on VICELAND.

Bobby Mair and Harriet Kemsley are a real-life couple. They’re also both real-life stand-up comedians – not pretend, make-believe ones – and the stars of a new VICELAND show, Bobby and Harriet Get Married.

The show is exactly what it sounds like, following Bobby and Harriet – plus a load of their comedy world friends, like Katherine Ryan and Romesh Ranganathan – as they try to stay together long enough to say, “I do.” It’s very funny and you should watch it – but don’t just take that from us; watch the trailer so you can get a taste of what to expect.

Working with our long time partner-in-crime Peter Darling was a breeze as always, and the troubadourian style was right up his street.

We were beyond excited to win three Paddlepop commercials earlier this year. The first to be released is Castaway which tells the story of Max and the gang who are stranded on a desert island, trying to find a way to be rescued.

We adored the standard of the animation (kudos to Studio Local) and really wanted to create a soundtrack that would complement the quality of the picture. Following the pattern of orchestral based compositions, we created a soundtrack that was dramatic, fun but not too cartoony in flavour.

Music composition for Dove Men+Care; part of their ‘Care Makes A Man Stronger’ campaign

We were challenged to create the soundtrack to a film that would juxtapose winning moments in sport with caring moments by the same men, where they went above and beyond to help others, particularly their opponents.

The key was to create something that was positive and uplifting but also drove the emotion that’s synonymous with sport.

We created a guitar-driven arrangement with building strings, written to marry a sense of emotion and care with one of strength and power.

A series of online promos/tutorials for Haig Club and British GQ.

We have been working with Miika for a number of years and every time we do we get the chance to create a soundtrack to something that is exciting, beautifully shot and edited and for great brands too. This is no exception.

With a series of films showcasing the detail, skill and intricate nature of each cocktail, Haig were looking for a piece of music that was similar in style to past campaigns but that harnessed power and grit, and “No Sweat” proved to be the perfect choice.

Incidentally, we also loved making this cocktail at our Christmas party!

We love it when a plan comes together and we knew as soon as we had written this track that it was destined for big things.

Broadcast promo for Sky Cinema’s 2017 Oscars season.

It was an honour to be asked by SATV to create a bespoke piece to accompany their evocative, beautiful edit of Oscar-winning movies.

We focused on emotional piano and strings as well as a drive and motivation throughout the composition that adds to the tension.

What made this project so great to work on, and ultimately the final edit so powerful, was that the editors had an early version of our piece to edit to.

Audio branding for DMC Film, a film and TV production company founded by actor Michael Fassbender, agent Conor Mccaughan and producer Daniel Emmerson.

DMC was in the process of developing its brand ahead of the release of the Assassins Creed film, and had commissioned Leeds creative studios Analogue and Hungry Sandwich Club to produce this ident. They in turn brought us on board to design the sound and complete the Leeds trio.

The feature character is Kokopelli, a Native American fertility deity. He is commonly depicted as a flute-player, so we sought to bring his call to life by manipulating different flute textures to reflect his mysticism and power. His song drifts through the mysterious forest, gradually rising in strength until it shakes the very ground he stands on.

Online ad for The Saucy Fish Co.’s new range of cook-from-frozen fish and sauce dishes.

Following on from our work on the The Saucy Fish Co.’s previous campaign in 2015, we were commissioned to produce the sound design and mix for this film full of frozen frolics.

The animation is punchy and bold in style with clean lines and beautiful block colours, so we reflected this in the audio by keeping the mix uncluttered and by designing quick and quirky sounds to punctuate the visuals.

On-demand and online ad for SouthEastern Railway, promoting their off-peak rail fares.

We we approached by director Nicholas Bentley to provide a full audio treatment for this project, including music composition, sound design, voiceover and mix. The overall brief was to tie together all the possibilities that ‘going off-peak’ can afford in a way that felt natural and journey-like.

For the voiceover, we collaborated with Leeds-based spoken word artist Katie Dowds, who brought her effortless style to the piece. The music and sound design were then crafted to underpin everything, subtly resembling the gathering momentum of a train without being obvious or clichéd.

Online and on-demand ad for Wilkinson Sword Hydro.

The Hydro razor first featured in one-to-one combat with a lube-strip razor in a Superbowl ad early in 2016. The two razors have now reappeared in this alternative showdown, which turns into a different kind of battle…

We produced the sound design, music edit and overall mix to emphasise the difference between the clunky, clumsy and rusty lube-strip razor and the smooth, shiny and precise Hydro razor. The lube strip didn’t stand a chance.

We love recording live horns, and this brief gave us the opportunity to do just that - the simple trumpet hook (played by our very own Pete Yelland-Brown) adds a real charm to this feel-good piece.

Commercial for Maggi to launch their new ‘Fusian’ range of instant noodles.

Maggi commissioned this TVC (which is targeted at young adults) to promote the latest addition to their range of sauces, soups and seasonings.

We brought in our expertise to communicate the Asian origin of the product without resorting to the same old tropes. The combination of a bespoke modern R&B-influenced track with a fusion of far-Eastern flavours and a catchy hook works together to drive the playful ad forwards.

We were asked to create a bespoke, dramatic, building and emotive composition to accompany a 60 second promo for Sky News International by Sky Creative.

The stylistic references had already pointed us towards creating an orchestral piece but we were acutely aware that we didn’t want it to sound “newsy” or “cliché” so we wanted to add our own mark which we did by adding an underscore of electronic instrumentation.

A series of adverts for Dove Men Australia as part of the international ‘Strength To Care’ campaign, featuring Australian rugby player David Pocock.

As soon as we saw the initial edits we knew that this would be a special project, and something that demanded something special from the soundtrack to complement David Pocock’s awesome personality and passion. After researching his story and discovering the things he stands for and how strongly he feels about them, we used this as a launchpad to begin coming up with thematic ideas.

We knew that getting the right tone would be essential, capturing the sensitivity and strength at the same time. Using piano as the focus of the composition, we added strings and subtle synths to build and grow the texture, keeping the piece strong but restrained.

This was one of those incredibly powerful projects where the films are good, the story is good, the sync supervisor is awesome and the agency are fully on board, enthusiastic and excited with the music direction from a very early stage. We’re pretty sure these are some of the reasons that this series of films went on to win two Spikes Asia awards!

A series of ten educational films for the BBC iWonder website.

It was so much fun, let alone educational, to source, create, edit and mix the sound design for these animations by the guys at Hungry Sandwich Club.

The films answer questions such as “What is the largest ocean creature?”, “How has the Olympics changed for women?” and “How has Shakespeare influenced us?”. We learnt a lot, as we’re sure anyone watching them will!

NMRN - Battle of Jutland - End Sequence

As part of a brand new HMS Caroline exhibition in Belfast we were commissioned by Ay-Pe in York to write a reflective, moving tribute to those that lost their lives at the Battle of Jutland. This was the principal naval battle of the First World War which took place on Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st of June 1916.

We knew immediately that an orchestral composition was the direction to go in but also had the privilege of being able to record a bugle performance by James Beecham.

We were challenged with creating two solo instrument compositions using bass guitar and drums that gradually build to a crescendo for two radio scripts for Volvo.

It is rare to be given the opportunity to work with scripts where there is a need for fantastic interplay between the dialogue and the music being written. We knew that we would really have to drill down into the timing of the words and the gradual build of the bass riff and drum groove. We wanted to make sure our submissions stood out and realised that the best way we could achieve this was working with a session bass player and drummer throughout the process. Although logistically challenging it meant that our compositions were real and organic and ultimately perfectly suited to the scripts.

The opening sequence to the Asia Hotel Design Awards.

Following on from the success of the sound design we created for the European Hotel Design Awards in 2016, The Neighbourhood approached us again, this time to create a bespoke music composition that would complement the space concept of their opening sequence animation for the award ceremony.

We used a series of ethereal and space-like synths to create the background for this piece but knew we wanted to add some pace too, we also collaborated closely with The Neighbourhood on the sound design elements.

A collaborative recording project with Cavendish Music to create a sample library of epic drums, percussion and metals that would form the foundation of a new library album.

The idea for Swagger came about whilst we were talking with our friends at Cavendish about potential album concepts, and was born out of a simple desire to find a huge room with a great reverb sound and then use the character of that space as the signature sound of an album.

Recording took place in Leeds at the stunning Left Bank Centre, an old church building that is now used as events space. The massive stone columns and arched roof provided an amazing setting for the session, in looks as well as sound. The sounds recorded included Japanese taikos, military snares, full drum kit and metal objects ranging from a rubbish bin to a salad bowl.

Cavendish then took these recordings and created the Swagger sample pack that went out to all of the commissioned composers as part of the album brief. Some of WMP’s tracks that were featured include the riff heavy ‘Bite Hard’ and the cinematic ‘Join Us’. The full album is being released on the 2nd of May 2016.

Christmas advert for Bluewater Shopping Centre.

We were commissioned to write a piece of music that would bring to life the magic of Christmas at Bluewater.

As there is no voice-over on the film, the visuals rely heavily on the soundtrack to help tell the story of the girl’s wonder and excitement as she sees the reindeer come to life.

The opening sequence to the European Hotel Design Awards.

The prestigious annual event held in London commissioned The Neighbourhood to design and create a short animation piece to open the awards. Inspired by the Wes Anderson film ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, the animation shows a porter on a journey through the hotel with a selection of presents.

We were asked to bring the piece to life using subtle sound design and Foley content and had a great time recording, sourcing and editing to make what was already a fantastic piece of work even better.

The brief was for a positive and repetitive tune with an uplifting crescendo that follow’s the character’s experience with a modern and fun tone.

Short film showcasing Listerine’s app that helps blind people ‘feel a smile’.

Listerine have developed a mobile app that uses facial recognition technology to help blind people know when someone is smiling at them. The heart warming short film directed by Oscar nominated Lucy Walker shows people experiencing the app for the first time. The film is part of Listerine’s new ‘Advanced White’ campaign and quickly went viral on social media when it was launched in August 2015.

WMP were asked to compose a simple emotive piano piece that would accompany this thought provoking film. ‘The Smile Detector App’ is available to download.

Online viral for Braun’s summer campaign.

We were asked by Leland to compose a track to work alongside the new Braun razor advert in the style of 2D platform games. Memories of Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog flood the viewer and present the brand in an amusing and memorable way. WMP track Definitions in the “Mr. Holmes” film trailer.

Mr.Holmes starring Ian McKellen and Laura Linney, directed by Bill Condon and score by Carter Burwell. The story follows the retired Sherlock Holmes reflecting on his life and his decision to return to an unsolved case. 

The dramatic and urgent piece “Definitions” is the first track on the official trailer. It features alongside another great composition from our friends at Extreme Music, the track “Nero” composed by Thomas Bergersen & Nick Phoenix.

Title theme for Sky Living’s first real-life drama series.

We were were asked to write the music for the opening titles of new reality drama Desi Rascals, from the director of Bend It Like Beckham and the creator of The Only Way Is Essex.

The show follows the lives of a multi-generational cast within the British Asian community in West London and is shot only a matter of days before being broadcast. It is a step up from other reality dramas in that it not only features the usual 20-somethings but also their parents, and this inter-generational dynamic helps to portray a wider perspective on what it means to be British and Asian as times and values change.

Bespoke pop track for Wrigley’s ‘Bin It!’ litter awareness campaign.

We were commissioned to write and produce a song that would form the basis of an animated film encouraging 7-11 year olds to dispose of their litter responsibly and ‘love where they live’.

Wrigley asked us to write lyrics that would clearly communicate the campaign’s specific key messages, whilst also creating litter-based scenarios that could be illustrated visually by the animation in a fun and humorous way. Although we carefully tailored the song to children of primary school age, we think viewers of all ages may also find this song going ‘round their heads when they’re wondering what to do with that used food wrapper…

Short Film: The Sequel

WMP were asked to compose the score and sound design for this short film. This satirical drama follows the reflections of a troubled man and his love for a former girlfriend. The monologue talks of their love for scaring people and it flashes back to some of their experiences.

2015 UK commercial for The Saucy Fish Co.

The Neighbourhood created this brilliant animation to demonstrate the diversity of The Saucy Fish Co’s range of fish and sauce combinations, and commissioned us to create the sound design and broadcast mix.

The characters in the film have a jam-packed week full of various activities, so we produced a fast-paced set of sound effects that would emphasise this and add life and personality to the different scenes.

Enemies in the “Escobar: Paradise Lost” Trailer

“Escobar: Paradise Lost” starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Hutchenson, directed by Andrea Di Stefano with a score by Max Richter is the story of young Canadian surfer Nick (Hutchenson) who falls for Maria (Traisac) and becomes embroiled in the dark world of her uncle Pablo Escobar (del Toro).

The tense and dramatic piece ‘Enemies’ features as the second track on the official trailer (in the video here, it starts at 1’03”). “Enemies” features alongside two other fantastic compositions, The Lost Secrets by Andrew Blarney (Universal Production Music) and Tourbillion by Julia Kent (The Leaf).

Animated online promo for the National Lottery’s ‘Just Imagine’ campaign, with Ricky Tomlinson presenting some of the good causes that are supported by Lottery funding.

We were commissioned to write a piece that would help celebrate the positive impact that the Lottery has in helping so many people and projects, and to show that it connects them all together.

We wrote these aspects into the music by giving it a steady progression and a celebratory tone, and by using instrumentation with a handmade feel in order to give the film a tangible human quality that reflects the real-life changes that the funding has made.

Worldwide broadcast campaign for Unilever and Cif.

WMP were commissioned by Big Sync and DLKW Lowe to create the magical soundtrack to a series of television spots for Cif, including an original ‘Cif Theme’.

There are three elements to the main orchestral theme… a suspenseful, tension-building opening that is different for each version of the advert, moving into a crescendo when we first see the Cif product, and then flowing into the main Cif Theme for the ending.

With an excellent voiceover by Michael Gambon and brilliant animation directed by Jamie Lancaster at The Mill+, we really wanted to add to the films by putting across the charm, elegance and make-believe of the animation.

A short film and meditation on loss and the relationship between fathers and their sons.

The concept and script for this piece were created by Ben Hodges, who approached us to collaborate on it with him.

The score supports the mood and the rhythm of the narration, encouraging the audience to reflect on the emotions being felt by both father and son, whilst gradually building to tie in with the pounding of the horse’s hooves and the ocean waves.

We were approached by ISO Design to design soundscapes and atmospheres for their visual retelling of the tale of St. Cuthbert, early Christianity in Britain, and the journey of the Lindisfarne Gospels.

BAFTA-nominated feature film about an Iranian girl and her brother who flee their middle-class home in Tehran and end up living on a council estate in the north-east of England.

We were initially approached by the director to write the cues for the original score, which gradually developed and grew to a total of nine compositions, including four original songs. These were written and produced in-house at WMP and featured a number of other collaborators.

After an independent release, the film went on to receive a nomination for Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director Or Producer at the 2013 BAFTAs.

Brand identity for the FIH (International Hockey Federation).

Works Ltd. asked us to provide a soundtrack to go with a new brand identity that they were creating for the FIH’s World League, using the strapline ‘Make your mark’. This track would then be used across all World League coverage as a signature piece of music for the brand.

An architectural study of the Leeds Grand Theatre.

An immersive digital theatre installation for the new ‘Hearts Of Oak’ gallery at Chatham Historic Dockyard.

The exhibition is a 30-minute historical reconstruction set in 1806, which retells the story of the construction of wooden-hulled sail-powered warships at the dockyard.

We created the atmospheric audio for 15 individual spaces, which the the gallery visitors are guided through by the story’s characters. The sound design we produced enhances the visual effects to help set the scene in the various areas of the busy dockyard and the surrounding streets.

We also provided creative treatments for two battle sequences, in which British naval tactics are explained, and a character vividly recounts the horrors of war at sea.

Christmas ad for Bluewater shopping centre.

We were approached by 23red to remix a version of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ as part of the ‘Experience the magic’ Christmas campaign they were creating for Bluewater.

The main theme was nostalgia, so we added a slightly modern twist to the piece whilst taking care to preserve as much of the magic of the original as possible.

A film to support and promote a charity cycle ride raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Short film commissioned by Cartoon Network as part of a series of inspiring films for children

A Whale’s Tale was launched by Hope Works on World Children’s Day as one of twelve films designed to inspire the values of kindness, tolerance and understanding in children around the world.

Airing on TV channels globally, the films were all made by big names in children’s broadcasting, from DreamWorks to Disney, and each one was created to be real and relevant across borders and cultures.

This particular film focuses on our human responsibility for the environment, specifically on the issue of plastic and its effect on the oceans.

Our role was to score the story of how the two worlds discover the same problem and work to resolve it, giving each scene and character a unique personality and feel.

Telling the tale musically required bringing together a range of instrumentation, both organic and synthesised, to underpin a story that is both light-hearted and funny at times, whilst also being earnest and thought-provoking.

Choir recording for Sainsbury’s 2018 Christmas campaign

“Hi there, can you possibly organise a choir of 14 school kids for next week?” “Why, yes, yes we most definitely can.”

We were asked to provide the sound of Sainsbury’s Christmas Choir and were immensely excited to be involved in this epic project. To be able to already have connections and contacts to organise a choir in the space of 5 days is testament to how collaborative our studios are.

A massive shout out to Danny from Class Dynamix, without whom this probably wouldn’t have happened. And huge thanks to Laurence from String & Tins who travelled from London to Leeds to record some atmos, sound design and pick-ups.

Dove Hair Fall Rescue

We were asked to create a positive, energetic, percussive piece that built as the spot progressed and only relied on tuned instrumentation in towards the end of the piece.

Bespoke music composition for BT Sport’s coverage of the 2018 Speedway season.

Picture the scene. Riders fly around a dirt oval at a blistering pace, bikes almost horizontal, without any brakes to fall back on. You’re gonna need the right music to set the mood.

As coverage of the 2018 Speedway season kicks off on BT Sport, our bespoke theme will be used as its musical identity.

Featuring punchy drums, rolling synth arpeggios and a huge but fitting wallop at the end, our title theme was later expanded into a sonic toolkit for use over longer formatted content. A great project all round and an absolute pleasure to work with the fantastic team at BT Sport.

Bespoke music and sound design for Covergirl’s #IAmWhatIMakeUp campaign, in collaboration with Woodwork Music

The spot features fitness trainer Massy Arias, whose ‘me-time’ is all about controlled strength, introverted energy, and absolute focus. So the versatility and flow of a raw and close-miked cello was perfect for this film’s music, accentuating her power and poise, and providing a beautiful balance of both grit and serenity.

We also created the sound design in-house, in tandem with the music composition. It combines the raw and real sounds of training in a gym with tailored hyperreal effects to build a visceral and intimate atmosphere.

Big thanks to Rose Gallaway for performing the cello parts to the film with such incredible deftness and skill.

Bespoke French-language song for Maille TV spot

As a nod to Maille’s heritage, this film takes the grainy quality of classic French cooking and gives it a twist of modern flair.

We took the same approach with the songwriting and production, harking back to the irreverent style of 60s French pop and blending it with some new flavours… 

The track was written in collaboration with Brussels-based singer Esra Tasasiz, whose lyrical and vocal contributions played a central role in the success of the project.

Nickelodeon TV ad for US yoghurt and smoothie brand Danimals

We were commissioned by our friends at Blue Zoo to create a dynamic a dynamic, playful and fun soundtrack to accompany the new Danimals spots to be aired in the US. This first spot is directing kids towards a minisite where they can design their own story… which in turn will become the second TV spot!

We needed to create a seamless link between the different sections of the film, emphasising the drama, the energy and the spy orientated nature of the storyline.

Every once in a while a project will come along that re-connects our team with a piece of music we had forgotten how much we loved.

The challenge with this piece of work was twofold, firstly arranging, performing and then editing a composition as well known as Clair De Lune is both an honour and a risk and secondly, with the timescales we had, the concept of an audio recording wasn’t possible so we had to rely on MIDI software instruments to re-create a particular sound as faithfully as we could.

Huge thanks must go to Ewan Gilford, our performer and also Will from the WMP team who handled the mastery of the edit and the mix.

Bespoke arrangement and production as part of an Nike’s online mega-spot

We were honoured and hugely excited to be the only bespoke part of the soundtrack for this epic promo film from Nike.

We were asked, pretty late on in the day, to be involved in pitching for the ice hockey scene (01:41 - 01:50). The client wasn’t sure what song they wanted to re-work so we ended up creating three different options, and Skepta’s “Shutdown” won the day. A huge film, huge commercial syncs and a huge stir that’s been caused since the films release!

Ad spot for the annual DFS Winter Sale, featuring the characters from Aardman Animations’ new feature film ‘Early Man’

It had been a bit of a bucket-list dream of ours to compose the music for an Aardman animation, so to be part of this unique film was a very special way to mark the new year.

Beginning with primitive percussion and ending with the bliss of lush strings, we follow Dug and his friends as they go on their prehistoric search for true comfort.

The ad is currently showing on TV and in cinemas, and Early Man is due for UK release on 26 January 2018 AD.

Sky Cinema - Heroes Vs Villains

Every now and then you get a brief that gives you the freedom to create something really unique. This was one of those briefs. Taking influences from the iconic films represented in the animations we really wanted to create a juxtaposition between light and dark, the heroes and the villains.

Worldwide TVC for Lacoste Pour Femme perfume, accompanied by a commercial single release.

This project somewhat flipped the usual process of syncing a commercial track to an ad on its head. Instead of starting with a finished full-length track and cutting it down to fit the ad, we began by writing the song to the picture, reimagined for the shorter 15-second version and afterwards extended it into a 3-minute single for commercial release. Whilst still maintaining a strong continuity between the different versions, this process allowed each one to be subtly different and crafted uniquely to its purpose.

By the time we were approached to write for the ad, the directors had tried a lot of existing tracks on the film, none of which were quite striking the balance they were looking for. They wanted the music to reflect the personality of the protagonist, just as the film was doing; juxtaposing her vulnerable and introspective side with her unexpected and daring side. By providing our bespoke approach we were able to find that balance right off the bat and create a track that helped to tell the story of the visuals rather than one that was trying to tell a story of its own.

As ever there was strong in-house WMP collaboration on this (at one point the lyrics, harmony and topline were being written in one room, and the beats were simultaneously being produced in another, with ideas flying back and forth) but we also collaborated closely with Cavendish Music throughout the project. Cavendish not only supervised the project and developed the release strategy for the single, but it was also they who brought in London-based artist LL to provide the final vocals, which we recorded at their studio in King’s Cross. Truly a team effort.

Re-brand campaign for Thomson Holidays’ name-change to TUI

We were briefed by Woodwork Music to produce an arrangement of the classic R&B track ‘Ain’t Nobody’ by Rufus And Chaka Khan, with a nod to the style of the hit musical La La Land — which we did with as much reverence for both as we could muster! Our arrangement was then used on the set of the ad shoot for the dancers and leading lady to perform to.

The song was arranged, orchestrated and produced in-house at WMP, and was sung by the incredible Alice Higgins, who was directed to perform her vocals as if she was the one being breathlessly lifted and twirled through a magical journey of a holiday experience (which she did with outstanding skill and stamina).

As part of the campaign we also went on to arrange and produce a full-length version of the song for non-broadcast usage, as well additional original music in the same style for further TV usage elsewhere.

The ad first aired in October 2017 on every major UK TV station, and reached 63% of the UK adult population within a fortnight. TUI also agreed a 12-month sponsorship of the whole Sky One channel using a series of idents which also featured the track.

We were asked by Innocent to create a brand new, evocative composition to launch their campaign for “The Big Knit” in cinemas, online and on television.

Now in it’s fourteenth year, the hats on their smoothies raise money for activities at local Age UK centres where people can get together for things like lunches and dance classes.

Being asked to create anything with non-lyrical vocals is a challenge that is relished and this was no exception, with luscious guitar tickling by the undeniably talented Peter Yelland-Brown and dreamy vocal talents from Rachel Ashworth, this project showcases that sometimes simplicity is best.

Bespoke theme and score for the original comedy Bobby & Harriet Get Married

We were absolutely honoured to work with VICE on the title theme, bumpers and underscore for this show, which was one of the first to be aired on VICELAND.

Bobby Mair and Harriet Kemsley are a real-life couple. They’re also both real-life stand-up comedians – not pretend, make-believe ones – and the stars of a new VICELAND show, Bobby and Harriet Get Married.

The show is exactly what it sounds like, following Bobby and Harriet – plus a load of their comedy world friends, like Katherine Ryan and Romesh Ranganathan – as they try to stay together long enough to say, “I do.” It’s very funny and you should watch it – but don’t just take that from us; watch the trailer so you can get a taste of what to expect.

Working with our long time partner-in-crime Peter Darling was a breeze as always, and the troubadourian style was right up his street.

Music Composition for Paddlepop series

We were beyond excited to win three Paddlepop commercials earlier this year. The first to be released is Castaway which tells the story of Max and the gang who are stranded on a desert island, trying to find a way to be rescued.

We adored the standard of the animation (kudos to Studio Local) and really wanted to create a soundtrack that would complement the quality of the picture. Following the pattern of orchestral based compositions, we created a soundtrack that was dramatic, fun but not too cartoony in flavour.

Music composition for Dove Men+Care; part of their ‘Care Makes A Man Stronger’ campaign

We were challenged to create the soundtrack to a film that would juxtapose winning moments in sport with caring moments by the same men, where they went above and beyond to help others, particularly their opponents.

The key was to create something that was positive and uplifting but also drove the emotion that’s synonymous with sport.

We created a guitar-driven arrangement with building strings, written to marry a sense of emotion and care with one of strength and power.

We were asked to create a cool, sophisticated and yet understated composition for this Sky Variety and Kids Bundle spot with the wonderful Leland Music. We knew straight away that the only way we were going to achieve this was by making the most of the huge network of talented session musicians based here in Leeds.

A series of online promos/tutorials for Haig Club and British GQ.

We have been working with Miika for a number of years and every time we do we get the chance to create a soundtrack to something that is exciting, beautifully shot and edited and for great brands too. This is no exception.

With a series of films showcasing the detail, skill and intricate nature of each cocktail, Haig were looking for a piece of music that was similar in style to past campaigns but that harnessed power and grit, and “No Sweat” proved to be the perfect choice.

Incidentally, we also loved making this cocktail at our Christmas party!

We love it when a plan comes together and we knew as soon as we had written this track that it was destined for big things.

Broadcast promo for Sky Cinema’s 2017 Oscars season.

It was an honour to be asked by SATV to create a bespoke piece to accompany their evocative, beautiful edit of Oscar-winning movies.

We focused on emotional piano and strings as well as a drive and motivation throughout the composition that adds to the tension.

What made this project so great to work on, and ultimately the final edit so powerful, was that the editors had an early version of our piece to edit to.

Audio branding for DMC Film, a film and TV production company founded by actor Michael Fassbender, agent Conor Mccaughan and producer Daniel Emmerson.

DMC was in the process of developing its brand ahead of the release of the Assassins Creed film, and had commissioned Leeds creative studios Analogue and Hungry Sandwich Club to produce this ident. They in turn brought us on board to design the sound and complete the Leeds trio.

The feature character is Kokopelli, a Native American fertility deity. He is commonly depicted as a flute-player, so we sought to bring his call to life by manipulating different flute textures to reflect his mysticism and power. His song drifts through the mysterious forest, gradually rising in strength until it shakes the very ground he stands on.

Online ad for The Saucy Fish Co.’s new range of cook-from-frozen fish and sauce dishes.

Following on from our work on the The Saucy Fish Co.’s previous campaign in 2015, we were commissioned to produce the sound design and mix for this film full of frozen frolics.

The animation is punchy and bold in style with clean lines and beautiful block colours, so we reflected this in the audio by keeping the mix uncluttered and by designing quick and quirky sounds to punctuate the visuals.

On-demand and online ad for SouthEastern Railway, promoting their off-peak rail fares.

We we approached by director Nicholas Bentley to provide a full audio treatment for this project, including music composition, sound design, voiceover and mix. The overall brief was to tie together all the possibilities that ‘going off-peak’ can afford in a way that felt natural and journey-like.

For the voiceover, we collaborated with Leeds-based spoken word artist Katie Dowds, who brought her effortless style to the piece. The music and sound design were then crafted to underpin everything, subtly resembling the gathering momentum of a train without being obvious or clichéd.

Online and on-demand ad for Wilkinson Sword Hydro.

The Hydro razor first featured in one-to-one combat with a lube-strip razor in a Superbowl ad early in 2016. The two razors have now reappeared in this alternative showdown, which turns into a different kind of battle…

We produced the sound design, music edit and overall mix to emphasise the difference between the clunky, clumsy and rusty lube-strip razor and the smooth, shiny and precise Hydro razor. The lube strip didn’t stand a chance.

US commercial for Prego Traditional pasta sauce.

We were asked by Leland Music to compose an authentic vintage soul track that would complement this playful ad.

We love recording live horns, and this brief gave us the opportunity to do just that - the simple trumpet hook (played by our very own Pete Yelland-Brown) adds a real charm to this feel-good piece.

Commercial for Maggi to launch their new ‘Fusian’ range of instant noodles.

Maggi commissioned this TVC (which is targeted at young adults) to promote the latest addition to their range of sauces, soups and seasonings.

We brought in our expertise to communicate the Asian origin of the product without resorting to the same old tropes. The combination of a bespoke modern R&B-influenced track with a fusion of far-Eastern flavours and a catchy hook works together to drive the playful ad forwards.

Promo for Sky News International

We were asked to create a bespoke, dramatic, building and emotive composition to accompany a 60 second promo for Sky News International by Sky Creative.

The stylistic references had already pointed us towards creating an orchestral piece but we were acutely aware that we didn’t want it to sound “newsy” or “cliché” so we wanted to add our own mark which we did by adding an underscore of electronic instrumentation.

A series of adverts for Dove Men Australia as part of the international ‘Strength To Care’ campaign, featuring Australian rugby player David Pocock.

As soon as we saw the initial edits we knew that this would be a special project, and something that demanded something special from the soundtrack to complement David Pocock’s awesome personality and passion. After researching his story and discovering the things he stands for and how strongly he feels about them, we used this as a launchpad to begin coming up with thematic ideas.

We knew that getting the right tone would be essential, capturing the sensitivity and strength at the same time. Using piano as the focus of the composition, we added strings and subtle synths to build and grow the texture, keeping the piece strong but restrained.

This was one of those incredibly powerful projects where the films are good, the story is good, the sync supervisor is awesome and the agency are fully on board, enthusiastic and excited with the music direction from a very early stage. We’re pretty sure these are some of the reasons that this series of films went on to win two Spikes Asia awards!

A series of ten educational films for the BBC iWonder website.

It was so much fun, let alone educational, to source, create, edit and mix the sound design for these animations by the guys at Hungry Sandwich Club.

The films answer questions such as “What is the largest ocean creature?”, “How has the Olympics changed for women?” and “How has Shakespeare influenced us?”. We learnt a lot, as we’re sure anyone watching them will!

NMRN - Battle of Jutland - End Sequence

As part of a brand new HMS Caroline exhibition in Belfast we were commissioned by Ay-Pe in York to write a reflective, moving tribute to those that lost their lives at the Battle of Jutland. This was the principal naval battle of the First World War which took place on Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st of June 1916.

We knew immediately that an orchestral composition was the direction to go in but also had the privilege of being able to record a bugle performance by James Beecham.

We were challenged with creating two solo instrument compositions using bass guitar and drums that gradually build to a crescendo for two radio scripts for Volvo.

It is rare to be given the opportunity to work with scripts where there is a need for fantastic interplay between the dialogue and the music being written. We knew that we would really have to drill down into the timing of the words and the gradual build of the bass riff and drum groove. We wanted to make sure our submissions stood out and realised that the best way we could achieve this was working with a session bass player and drummer throughout the process. Although logistically challenging it meant that our compositions were real and organic and ultimately perfectly suited to the scripts.

The opening sequence to the Asia Hotel Design Awards.

Following on from the success of the sound design we created for the European Hotel Design Awards in 2016, The Neighbourhood approached us again, this time to create a bespoke music composition that would complement the space concept of their opening sequence animation for the award ceremony.

We used a series of ethereal and space-like synths to create the background for this piece but knew we wanted to add some pace too, we also collaborated closely with The Neighbourhood on the sound design elements.

A collaborative recording project with Cavendish Music to create a sample library of epic drums, percussion and metals that would form the foundation of a new library album.

The idea for Swagger came about whilst we were talking with our friends at Cavendish about potential album concepts, and was born out of a simple desire to find a huge room with a great reverb sound and then use the character of that space as the signature sound of an album.

Recording took place in Leeds at the stunning Left Bank Centre, an old church building that is now used as events space. The massive stone columns and arched roof provided an amazing setting for the session, in looks as well as sound. The sounds recorded included Japanese taikos, military snares, full drum kit and metal objects ranging from a rubbish bin to a salad bowl.

Cavendish then took these recordings and created the Swagger sample pack that went out to all of the commissioned composers as part of the album brief. Some of WMP’s tracks that were featured include the riff heavy ‘Bite Hard’ and the cinematic ‘Join Us’. The full album is being released on the 2nd of May 2016.

Christmas advert for Bluewater Shopping Centre.

We were commissioned to write a piece of music that would bring to life the magic of Christmas at Bluewater.

As there is no voice-over on the film, the visuals rely heavily on the soundtrack to help tell the story of the girl’s wonder and excitement as she sees the reindeer come to life.

The opening sequence to the European Hotel Design Awards.

The prestigious annual event held in London commissioned The Neighbourhood to design and create a short animation piece to open the awards. Inspired by the Wes Anderson film ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, the animation shows a porter on a journey through the hotel with a selection of presents.

We were asked to bring the piece to life using subtle sound design and Foley content and had a great time recording, sourcing and editing to make what was already a fantastic piece of work even better.

TV advert for Bonjela’s 2015 campaign

WMP were approached to compose a track that would accompany Bonjela’s TV campaign for their Invisible cold sore cream. The advert follows a female character’s morning routine while trying not to be seen.

The brief was for a positive and repetitive tune with an uplifting crescendo that follow’s the character’s experience with a modern and fun tone.

A series of channel idents for You TV Ireland.


WMP were approached to compose a series of idents for You TV; Ireland’s latest TV entertainment channel.

UTV was launched in Ireland in January 2015 and they wanted their idents to be modern and contemporary. WMP began by composing an original theme for the channel and then a series of pieces were commissioned alongside it.

Short film showcasing Listerine’s app that helps blind people ‘feel a smile’.

Listerine have developed a mobile app that uses facial recognition technology to help blind people know when someone is smiling at them. The heart warming short film directed by Oscar nominated Lucy Walker shows people experiencing the app for the first time. The film is part of Listerine’s new ‘Advanced White’ campaign and quickly went viral on social media when it was launched in August 2015.

WMP were asked to compose a simple emotive piano piece that would accompany this thought provoking film. ‘The Smile Detector App’ is available to download.

Online viral for Braun’s summer campaign.

We were asked by Leland to compose a track to work alongside the new Braun razor advert in the style of 2D platform games. Memories of Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog flood the viewer and present the brand in an amusing and memorable way. The brief was for a fun and entertaining piece based on the classic 8bit computer game themes.

WMP track Definitions in the “Mr. Holmes” film trailer.

Mr.Holmes starring Ian McKellen and Laura Linney, directed by Bill Condon and score by Carter Burwell. The story follows the retired Sherlock Holmes reflecting on his life and his decision to return to an unsolved case. 

The dramatic and urgent piece “Definitions” is the first track on the official trailer. It features alongside another great composition from our friends at Extreme Music, the track “Nero” composed by Thomas Bergersen & Nick Phoenix.

Title theme for Sky Living’s first real-life drama series.

We were were asked to write the music for the opening titles of new reality drama Desi Rascals, from the director of Bend It Like Beckham and the creator of The Only Way Is Essex.

The show follows the lives of a multi-generational cast within the British Asian community in West London and is shot only a matter of days before being broadcast. It is a step up from other reality dramas in that it not only features the usual 20-somethings but also their parents, and this inter-generational dynamic helps to portray a wider perspective on what it means to be British and Asian as times and values change.

Bespoke pop track for Wrigley’s ‘Bin It!’ litter awareness campaign.

We were commissioned to write and produce a song that would form the basis of an animated film encouraging 7-11 year olds to dispose of their litter responsibly and ‘love where they live’.

Wrigley asked us to write lyrics that would clearly communicate the campaign’s specific key messages, whilst also creating litter-based scenarios that could be illustrated visually by the animation in a fun and humorous way. Although we carefully tailored the song to children of primary school age, we think viewers of all ages may also find this song going ‘round their heads when they’re wondering what to do with that used food wrapper…

Short Film: The Sequel

WMP were asked to compose the score and sound design for this short film. This satirical drama follows the reflections of a troubled man and his love for a former girlfriend. The monologue talks of their love for scaring people and it flashes back to some of their experiences.

This dark and tense piece was Halloween inspired and was a project for our friend Miika Vaso.

2015 UK commercial for The Saucy Fish Co.

The Neighbourhood created this brilliant animation to demonstrate the diversity of The Saucy Fish Co’s range of fish and sauce combinations, and commissioned us to create the sound design and broadcast mix.

The characters in the film have a jam-packed week full of various activities, so we produced a fast-paced set of sound effects that would emphasise this and add life and personality to the different scenes.

Enemies in the “Escobar: Paradise Lost” Trailer

“Escobar: Paradise Lost” starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Hutchenson, directed by Andrea Di Stefano with a score by Max Richter is the story of young Canadian surfer Nick (Hutchenson) who falls for Maria (Traisac) and becomes embroiled in the dark world of her uncle Pablo Escobar (del Toro).

The tense and dramatic piece ‘Enemies’ features as the second track on the official trailer (in the video here, it starts at 1’03”). “Enemies” features alongside two other fantastic compositions, The Lost Secrets by Andrew Blarney (Universal Production Music) and Tourbillion by Julia Kent (The Leaf).

Online showcase film and interactive website for children, featuring a group of farmyard animals who live and work together as friends.

We were initially approached to provide a full audio treatment for a showcase video which introduces the Farmyard Friends, complete with bespoke music, background atmos and character sound effects, reflecting each one’s unique personality and characteristics.

In July 2014 we were asked to work on the project again - this time to provide the audio content for an interactive website. This included downloadable ringtones, character responses to user interactions, and sound effects for a number of online games.

Animated online promo for the National Lottery’s ‘Just Imagine’ campaign, with Ricky Tomlinson presenting some of the good causes that are supported by Lottery funding.

We were commissioned to write a piece that would help celebrate the positive impact that the Lottery has in helping so many people and projects, and to show that it connects them all together.

We wrote these aspects into the music by giving it a steady progression and a celebratory tone, and by using instrumentation with a handmade feel in order to give the film a tangible human quality that reflects the real-life changes that the funding has made.

End of season promo for adidas.

Worldwide broadcast campaign for Unilever and Cif.

WMP were commissioned by Big Sync and DLKW Lowe to create the magical soundtrack to a series of television spots for Cif, including an original ‘Cif Theme’.

There are three elements to the main orchestral theme… a suspenseful, tension-building opening that is different for each version of the advert, moving into a crescendo when we first see the Cif product, and then flowing into the main Cif Theme for the ending.

With an excellent voiceover by Michael Gambon and brilliant animation directed by Jamie Lancaster at The Mill+, we really wanted to add to the films by putting across the charm, elegance and make-believe of the animation.

FATUM is a short film that explores both ends of a romantic relationship at the same time.

Bespoke composition for an online promo and on-demand ad created as part of Velvet’s ‘Thank You Trees’ campaign.

The main promo video was specifically produced for the launch of a website to promote Velvet’s partnership with forestry company Amata Brasil.

We were asked by Fallon to compose a bespoke piece that was fresh, organic and rhythmic, with a slight Brazilian feel and subtle hip hop influences.

A short film and meditation on loss and the relationship between fathers and their sons.

The concept and script for this piece were created by Ben Hodges, who approached us to collaborate on it with him.

The score supports the mood and the rhythm of the narration, encouraging the audience to reflect on the emotions being felt by both father and son, whilst gradually building to tie in with the pounding of the horse’s hooves and the ocean waves.

We were approached by ISO Design to design soundscapes and atmospheres for their visual retelling of the tale of St. Cuthbert, early Christianity in Britain, and the journey of the Lindisfarne Gospels.

BAFTA-nominated feature film about an Iranian girl and her brother who flee their middle-class home in Tehran and end up living on a council estate in the north-east of England.

We were initially approached by the director to write the cues for the original score, which gradually developed and grew to a total of nine compositions, including four original songs. These were written and produced in-house at WMP and featured a number of other collaborators.

After an independent release, the film went on to receive a nomination for Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director Or Producer at the 2013 BAFTAs.

Brand identity for the FIH (International Hockey Federation).

Works Ltd. asked us to provide a soundtrack to go with a new brand identity that they were creating for the FIH’s World League, using the strapline ‘Make your mark’. This track would then be used across all World League coverage as a signature piece of music for the brand.

A promo for the Nike FuelStation store at Box Park in Shoreditch, London.

The music for this film came about as a result of a remix project we undertook to take one of our own compositions and create new versions of it.

Whilst retaining some of the original themes, the new piece has a choppy/glitchy feel to it, which promotes the technology and futuristic feel that the customer experiences in the store.

Our aim was to produce a track that reflected the beauty and size of the theatre, and to support the visuals and interviews as they reveal the secret workings of one of Leeds’ finest buildings.

An immersive digital theatre installation for the new ‘Hearts Of Oak’ gallery at Chatham Historic Dockyard.

The exhibition is a 30-minute historical reconstruction set in 1806, which retells the story of the construction of wooden-hulled sail-powered warships at the dockyard.

We created the atmospheric audio for 15 individual spaces, which the the gallery visitors are guided through by the story’s characters. The sound design we produced enhances the visual effects to help set the scene in the various areas of the busy dockyard and the surrounding streets.

We also provided creative treatments for two battle sequences, in which British naval tactics are explained, and a character vividly recounts the horrors of war at sea.

We were approached by 23red to remix a version of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ as part of the ‘Experience the magic’ Christmas campaign they were creating for Bluewater.

The main theme was nostalgia, so we added a slightly modern twist to the piece whilst taking care to preserve as much of the magic of the original as possible.

A film to support and promote a charity cycle ride raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The bespoke piece with accompanying sound design seeks to evoke the vastness of the dark, and the warmth and hope of the lights powerfully piercing it.

The composition was later nominated at the 2013 Music And Sound Awards in the ‘Best Composition For Non-Broadcast And Viral Advertising’ category.
